First career was a French Language teacher. I have had type 1 Diabetes for 18 years. I have been frustrated by the help I was getting in the medical system. I felt that the treatment was disempowering and not always respectful of the whole person. Sometimes the protocols provided have proven counter effective to diabetes management and we must look outside this system to find a better way.
