On tiptoe on the edges of time
Posted October 2, 2009 by Bodhi
I dance on tiptoe on the edges of time
I know my life is borrowed it can never be mine
Yet i celebrate my being with all the music and rhyme
I rejoice in the endless beauty of my fleeting sunshine

To breathe in this earth is such a joy to behold
To face challenges in this adventure so true so bold
To know pain and sadness and a depth of emotions untold
The heart beats to taste all the mystery our lives hold

In the end there's ultimate nothingness, that i know
The door will open for me, death will show
Yet i am just too thankful for all the winds that blow
For my sea, my sunshine, my soil, and all of you i love and know.

My gift to death
Posted October 2, 2009 by Bodhi
Oh death when you come to knock on my door, what will i give you?
i give you my breath my heart my soul and my flesh and sinew
i give you fond memories of joy and laughter
memories of pain yet still i love long after
i give you back all the blessings i received
i give you back my borrowed life well lived
i give you every moment every smile
all the wonders i encountered in my life's travel every mile
i surrender all my riches and all my loves
to your infinite hand that reaches from above
Oh death you have no power over me
for i know that love is larger than thee!

The Beauty of life and death
Posted July 27, 2009 by Bodhi
Open your heart widely to the vastness of life
And you will see reality greater than your best understanding
Be suffused into the burning lessons of being
Til you understand that life and death dance freely as nothing and becoming.

Just as the flowers dance freely in the wind til they wilt and die
As a candle burns and spreads its light until it is nothing
Just as the seeds fall down and die at the moment of its birthing
Reality teaches us the life and death are really one beginning.

The mighty river of life flows directly to the sea til it is nothing
Its true destiny belongs to the vastness of the ocean's belonging
The sun sets on the horizon til darkness envelops everything
If only to rise again in the freshness of the morning

Embrace life in the depths of your silent longing
til you realize that those who live life fully are intimate with death's inevitable calling.

Daily life and Daily religion
Posted July 17, 2009 by Bodhi
My everyday life is my best religion
The hours that go by in work or play is already my devotion
I don't presume to know the mind of God in my meditation
I just live my life well and see God in all His Creation

The warm sun is God's love warming my bones
The fresh air is God's breath giving life even to stones
The friendships and warm sharing is God's camaraderie making me happy
My heart that beats and lungs that breathe is him inside my body

Yet still i cannot presume in my small mind to know God,
Even if fiery preachers say they have seen a God so mad,
I am not even sure if there is really a heaven or a hell,
All i know is that I am alive, a wonder, that's all i can tell.

A Prayer for Life
Posted July 12, 2009 by Bodhi
Almighty Radiant Being, Master of Tao, I am that I am,
Teach us to live our life to the fullest,
To discover eternity in our limited time,
To love to the fullest until we experience the pain of too much tenderness;
To let our soft hearts bleed in compassion
In order for our hearts to have wings in communion,
To realize the heart's secrets until we become part of the universe's secrets;
To be driven by doubt in our search for wisdom;
Emboldened by our fears in order to face the unknown,
To live life in shameless abandon
Yet fully ride our passions with our glowing center,
To live to face the truth unafraid
And march smiling to our deaths because death has lost it power.
