(NaturalNews) There is a lot still to be learned about emotions. Approximately 20 years ago, researchers were under the impression that emotions and feelings originated with the heart, not the brain. They also believed that emotions could not be measured with scientific research. In more recent years, researchers have found that emotions can play a major role in a person's overall health. A non-invasive way to study feelings and emotions is through the use of hypnotherapy and brain images (Brain & Emotions Research).

Feelings and emotions are created from one's own perception. When a person feels a specific emotion, it is usually triggered by a thought and this thought is triggered by a past experience. This process can occur consciously or unconsciously without a person realizing it. Examples of emotions include happiness, joy, and contentment which are all positive emotions. Negative emotions include fear, anger, and pain.

Basically, there are good emotions and bad emotions. Emotions reside in the subconscious mind. The subconscious mind tells the conscious mind how to feel. Of course, people would rather feel good emotions instead of bad emotions. The subconscious mind can be accessed using hypnosis to change negative emotions into positive emotions (Oso).

One study looked at hypnotic suggestion, emotions, and pain. Hypnotic suggestion was used to induce specific emotions. Then, the researchers looked at how the various emotional states affected pain. They found negative emotions such as fear and sadness increased the level of perceived pain in participants. However, when positive emotions were hypnotically induced, the positive emotions that resulted were static and did not continue to increase. The significance of this study is that certain emotions can be created with hypnosis without side effects. The induction of hypnosis gives more control to the researcher and does not create secondary emotions.

Other studies have used hypnosis on the study of emotions using both highly suggestible and low suggestible participants. When highly suggestible participants were given hypnotic suggestions to be 'emotionally numb' or unaffected by either positive or negative emotions, researchers found that they were not susceptible to the emotions and that the hypnotic suggestions were able to produce a numbing affect on their emotions. When comparing highly suggestible people to low suggestible people, the highly suggestible participants experience more emotional numbing (Rainville, 2002).

The study of hypnotic suggestions plays a positive role in studying the science of emotions. It gives researchers control over what emotions to induce. By studying both highly suggestible people and low suggestible people, it gives researchers greater insight into the study of emotion.

The Art of Ascendancy or evolution of soul is such a significant factor that a Sikh, meaning a learner, follows it as an ultimate goal of life. A Sikh just by obeying Gurbani is considered and is entitled to be a Singh or Khalsa. The word Khalsa - Lover of God as described by Saint or Bhakat (Bhagat) Kabir Ji recorded in the Holy Scripture of Sikhs - Shri Guru Granth Sahib, conveys the purity of the heart like that of a saint, the mystic person; and the word Singh conveys the disciplined power of dutifulness, mystic discipline of duty, the very essence of bravery like that of in a soldier.

Purity, power and duty are attributes of the soul, our conscience in general, without which Metaphysics remains as philosophy, which one may know and understand, without practicing it in real life. This very idea of linking soul, self and spirit with the Sun is very much clear when Gurbani says:

“The Sun is one, but the seasons are many," says Shri Guru Nanak "that the Creator, Waheguru (The Eternal Worthy of Praise), is one yet has similarly many forms”.

Here the Sun metaphorically represents the soul and God (Waheguru) as the Spirit. The concept of the soul is like that of the zero. Whenever zeroes are added together, the result is zero; similarly all souls added together result in one soul; the Spirit, like drop of water when added in any number, remains and results in water. The drop of water from sea and the sea itself are one, at the quality level that the water is same.

Our life on the earth has very a unique and special relation with the Sun, such that our physical body and its vitality and radiance are definitely helpful for our spiritual growth and development. The philosophy of religions and metaphysics in particular, though the Eastern or Indian Philosophy in general, greatly gives metaphysically diversified meanings, effects, impact and influences of the transition of the Sun through twelve signs of the zodiac.

These zodiac signs are, namely as:

1. Aries,

2. Taurus,

3. Gemini,

4. Cancer,

5. Leo,

6. Virgo,

7. Libra,

8. Scorpio,

9. Sagittarius,

10. Capricorn,

11. Aquarius and

12. Pisces.

The day when the Sun passes from one zodiac sign to the next is called Sankranti (in Hindi) or Sangrand (in Punjabi).

This day bears a deep mystical, spiritual, religious and the relevant cultural, traditional and social belief and faith attributed in Indian Civilization and the world over representing humanity metaphorically. Mysticism, the valuable part of Metaphysics, and Astrology, all over the world, are also based on these transitions of the Sun.

In all these attributes, the Sun is symbolized as the Soul (Atma). At the same time, the Moon is symbolized as the Heart, or Emotions (Mann).

True REST Float Center
True REST opens in Scottsdale. See the Story on Fox 10 News http://www.myfoxphoenix.com/dpp/news/business/true...

SCOTTSDALE -- It sounds like something out of a science fiction movie -- getting into a pod and floating on water.

In the 1970s they were called sensory deprivation tanks, but they have been upgraded with the times.

On Nick Janicki's trip to London, he tried out the floatation device. He says as soon as he did it, he knew what he wanted to do with his life.

"Tried my very first float. After 60 minutes I got out and had this massive elated smile on my face, I just looked like an idiot, I didn't know what to do with myself and I said this thing is amazing," he recalls.

Janicki came back to Arizona and decided to open a True REST float center in Scottsdale featuring these rest pods.

"The water is heated to skin temperature and after about 20 minutes the brain stops recognizing the water and your body, so of course anyone with pain, fibromyalgia, migraines anything like that, it very much helps get rid of all that pain."

The 9-foot-long and 5-feet-tall pod has light and music inside, and its filled with 10 inches of water and 800 pounds of salt to make you float.

"Its like floating in oil, that's what blew my mind. You are in water for an hour, you think you are going to be dried out like a prune but its 180 degrees the opposite. It literally feels like you are floating in oil and even afterwards the way my skin feels now, that really surprised me," says first-time user David Farnsworth.

Janicki says that in just an hour, you can get the benefits of four hours of sleep. 1,300 people in the valley are already on a waiting list to get a chance in the rest pod.

True REST is located on Thompson Peak and Frank Lloyd Wright in Scottsdale.

I want to first thank Steven for inviting me to be apart of this community! I don't have all the time in the world to get to know everyone here, but I am trying.

Everyone here is so welcoming and looking to have wonderful lives, or I should say keep a wonderful life.

I woke up this morning listening to the rain tapping on my window, and my pup cuddling close to me.

I hope everyone has a brilliant day, and weekend!
