George Bush Goes To School
Posted November 3, 2006 by Steven Ferrel
George Bush goes to a primary school to talk to the kids, to get a little boost in his PR. After his talk he offers question time. One
little boy puts up his hand and George asks him his name.

"Stanley," responds the little boy.

"And what is your question, Stanley?"

"I have 5 questions:

First, why did the USA invade Iraq without the support of the UN?

Second, why are you President when Al Gore got more votes?

Third, whatever happened to Osama Bin Laden?"

Fourth, why are we so worried about gay marriage and supporting the rest of the world when 1/2 of all Americans don't have health insurance? Shouldn't our country come first?

Fifth, Why do we borrow money to give to countries that will never pay it back. Can't they borrow it themselves?

Just then, the bell rings for recess. George Bush informs the kiddies that they will continue after recess.

When they resume George says, "OK, where were we? Oh, that's right: question time. Who has a question?"

Another little boy puts up his hand. George points him out and asks him his name.

"Steve," he responds.

"And what is your question, Steve?"

"Actually, I have 7 questions.
First, why did the USA invade Iraq without the support of the UN?

Second, why are you President when Al Gore got more votes?

Third, whatever happened to Osama Bin Laden?

Fourth, why are we so worried about gay marriage and supporting the rest of the world when 1/2 of all Americans don't have health insurance? Shouldn't our country come first?

Fifth, Why do we borrow money to give to countries that will never pay it back. Can't they borrow it themselves?

Sixth, why did the recess bell go off 20 minutes early?

And Seventh, what the heck happened to Stanley?"

Fast-Food Grilled Chicken Contains Dangerous Carcinogen, Laboratory Tests Reveal

Doctors Group Sues McDonaldҒs, Burger King, Outback, and Other National Chains Under California Law to Warn Consumers

WASHINGTONEvery sample of grilled chicken products from seven national restaurant chains tested positive for a dangerous carcinogenic compound called PhIP, prompting the Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine (PCRM) to file suit under Californiaגs Proposition 65 to compel the restaurants to warn unsuspecting consumers. PCRM is suing McDonalds, Burger King, Chick-fil-A, ChiliҒs, Applebees, Outback Steakhouse, and TGI FridayҒs in The Superior Court of the State of California for the County of Los Angeles.

PCRM commissioned an independent laboratory to test grilled chicken products from California outlets of all seven chains. PhIP was found in every grilled chicken sample from each restaurant where samples were collected. PhIP is one of a group of carcinogenic compounds called heterocyclic amines (HCAs) that are found in grilled meat. In 2005, the federal government officially added HCAs to its list of carcinogens, and PhIP has been on the California governors list of chemicals known to cause cancer for more than a decade.

ғGrilled chicken can cause cancer, and consumers deserve to know that this supposedly healthy product is actually just as bad for them as high-fat fried chicken, says PCRM president Neal Barnard, M.D. ԓEven a grilled chicken salad increases the risk of breast cancer, prostate cancer, and other forms of this lethal disease.

For an interview with lead attorney Dan Kinburn, Dr. Barnard, or another PCRM spokesperson, contact Jeanne S. McVey at 202-686-2210, ext. 316, or.

Founded in 1985, the Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine is a nonprofit health organization that promotes preventive medicine, especially good nutrition. PCRM also conducts clinical research studies, opposes unethical human experimentation, and promotes alternatives to animal research.

Love the Planet Using Recyclable Toilet Paper:

Do you know that virgin forests are cut down every day to make toilet paper for us humans?

Here֒s what we can do to stop it.

Toilet Paper Fact:

If every household in the United States replaced just one roll of virgin fiber toilet paper (500 sheets) with 100% recycled ones, we could save 423,900 trees.

Note: You can also save trees by using recycled facial tissues, paper towels, and paper napkins which are also produced by many of the same brands above.

Three Reminders You Can Do To Help Save Our Forests:

1. Buy paper products with recycled content especially post-consumer fibers.

Look for products that have a high recycled content, including high post-consumer content. Post-consumer fibers are recovered from paper that was previously used by consumers and would otherwise have been dumped into a landfill or an incinerator.

2. Buy paper products made with clean, safe processes.

Paper products are bleached to make them whiter and brighter, but chlorine used in many bleaching processes contributes to the formations of harmful chemicals that wind up in our air and water and are highly toxic to people and fish. Look for products labeled totally chlorine-free (TCF) or processed chlorine-free (PCF). In some cases, elemental chlorine-free (ECF) may be acceptable.

3. Tell tissue manufacturers to stop using virgin wood for throwaway products.

If a brand you buy for your home doesnגt have any recycled content, contact the manufacturer. Tell the company to use more recycled fibers, to avoid sourcing from ecologically valuable forests such as those in the Cumberland Plateau and Canadian boreal, and to ensure any virgin fibers used are certified by the Forest Stewardship Council. Saving forests also helps reduce global warming pollution.

Ah, there is desolation inside my soul.
It is something unexplainable,
Yet I always try to define it.
It is like trying to explain love, I suppose.
Many have, yet for each of us,
It's meaning is something different,
Though we all have a vague idea of it.

To run naked,
The wind caressing my body,
The earth crunching beneath my feet,
The sky in it's neverending form above me.
Yes, this is what I crave.
I long to be wild and free,
As my ancestors before me.
