Brent - Speaking for Those Who Cannot
ABOUT
I believe anyone who loves animal has a kind heart. I grew up with animals and have learned many great lessons from my non-human companions/teachers, including lessons such as patience, keeping an open mind and being non-judgmental, overcoming / accepting life's obstacles as a part of life, and being true to oneself. I'm down to earth, compassionate, humble, spontaneous, and stay pretty true to the attribute of a pisces, for I believe that people who still care and have compassion towards our nonhuman neighbors are rare gems on this home called earth.

As a person with natural curiosity for almost everything, I enjoy immersing in new places and experiences as well as revisiting old and familiar realms.

A sample of my interests in the mundane include Vegan Culinary Art (I enjoy cooking through various culinary traditions), Veganism & Environmentalism, Animal Rights-Welfare-Rescue-Communication, Drawing, Animation, Magic, Being with Animals, Billiard, Air Hockey, Origami, Video Games, Reading, Music Instruments, Ultimate Frisbee, Racquetball, Volleyball, Board Games, Chess, Chinese Chess, Go, Renju, Axis and Allies, Movies, Whose Line Is It Anyway, Talk Radio, A Prairie Home Companion, NPR, Self Improvement.

As for my not so mundane interests, they are: Energy & Alterative Healing, Chakra, Meditation, Astral Projection, Spirituality/Metaphysics, Out of Body Experience, Near Death Experience, Occult & Esoterics, Psychic Phenomenon, Telepathy, Psychokinesis, Clairvoyance, Clairaudience, Clairsentience, Remote Viewing, Crop Circles, Extraterrestrials, UFO, Cryptozoology, 2012, Lightworkers, Ascension, Spiritual Enlightenment, Completing Life Lessons, and Reincarnation.

Since I enjoy learning and absorbing like a sponge, I have a huge collection of books in my room, ranging from vegetarian and vegan cookbooks to tomes related to the interests that I've mentioned as well as manga and comic books that are both entertaining and educational that teach about different aspects of life. Some of my favorite books are "Many Masters, Many Lives" by Brian Weiss and "Guided Tour to the Afterlife" by Susan Wells and Harriet Carter.

Virtue that I highly value is compassion, because I believe compassion is a basic foundation of humanity and defines what it is to be human (though I see so much human-ness in the animal kingdom as well). Naturally, I feel most alive when I meet a person who can hold an interesting and intelligent conversation and is sincere and lives the virtue of compassion.

People often ask me what I am good at. Here is an abridged answer to that question:
cooking, entertaining my fuzzy siblings (my dogs), magic, billiard, wack-a-mole, dance dance revolution and various video games, giving massages (my sister can vouch for that), spelling and writing, Chinese chess, connect five (renju), othello, volunteering, and learning all sorts of things.

Another question that is often asked is "what are my favorite movies and music."

There are too many favorite movies of mine. An abridged list would be: Life Is Beautiful, Powder, Forest Gump, Amelie, K Pax, What Dreams May Come, Jumanji, Meet The Parents, Titanic, Indiana Jones (trilogy), Hellboy, The Matrix, Schindler's List, Saving Private Ryan, Cast Away, Aliens (trilogy), Jurassic Park, House of Flying Daggers, Gandhi, 300, The Sixth Sense, Unbreakable, Peter Jackson's King Kong, Terminator (trilogy), Grave of the Fireflies directed by Isao Takahata, all animations directed by Hayao Miyazaki (Nausicaa of the Valley of Wind, Castle in the Sky, My Neighbor Totoro, Kiki's Delivery Service, Princess Mononoke, Spirited Away, Howl's Moving Castle, Porco Rosso, Future Boy Conan, Whisper of the Heart), all animations made by Pixar, Nighbmare before Christmas, James and the Giant Peach, Shrek, Waking Life, and so many more.

When it comes to music, I enjoy almost every genre: classic rock and roll (a la Jerry Lee Lewis and Elvis), rockabilly, big band, classic, pop, world music, movie soundtracks (especially those from Studio Ghibli's animation works), new age, alternative, country, and metal. Some of my favorite performers not listed above include: Enya, Deep Forest, Enigma, Louis Armstrong, Michael Jackson, System of a Down, Aerosmith, Guns and Roses, Metallica, Iron Maiden, and more.

Having done some soul searching, there aren't many things that I can never do without, since I've always understood that we are born into this world with nothing, and when we leave our physical body at the end of this game we call life on Earth, we will be unable to take anything material with us. The only things that we can retain when we pass from the physical world are our life experience, knowledge, wisdom and individual qualities that we've honed that define who we have become.

With that said, the intangible things that I can never do without are:
- Compassion and empathy
- Sense of justice and ability to make a positive difference in the world
- Honor
- Dreams
- Thirst for knowledge and wisdom

On the note of learning, I am often found thinking about the day when:
- people of the world stops usage of money and focuses on pursuit of personal growth and evolution
- governments disclose and acknowledge the existence of extraterrestrials and the various technologies that already exist from government reverse engineering of space crafts
- people become compassionate towards others
- spiritual enlightenment is attained
