Came to the US in 1969, 15 years old with my Dad Elemir Perret (Taylor) It took 3 years to apply & finally get a green card, became a US citizen 5 years later, graduated from Inglewood High School in 1972, got a job in a liquor store at 18, enrolled in beauty school at 19 (Newberry School of Beauty, Hollywood & Vine) after getting my Cosmetology license at 21 got a job at Maine St. Haircutting in Manhattan Beach, Ca. Was an apprentice for 1 year, finally became a Hair Stylist, after building a clientele I quit the liquor store (Got robbed 3 times) Became part owner & moved there with 3 room mates in 4 bedroom house, 1909 The Strand 2 blocks from work. At 25 I married one of my customers after dating for 2 weeks moved to Dallas, TX. For one year, came back to Ca. bought my first house in Manhattan Beach short story long, it lasted 16 years, not bad, learned a lot and got 2 wonderful kids: http://www.danielperret.smugmug.com/Family

Marriage is like making pancakes, you always mess up the first one, and by the third one you can flip them like a Pro. Now I am working on the second, another one of my Customers, "Cathy Dorn" she was and still is a miracle in my life, I prayed for 5 years for a girl like her, God moved her right next door from my condo, I tossed and turned every night thinking about her, there was a wall separating our bedrooms we became friends first and really took our time getting to know each other and her getting to know my kids, one day I proposed and she told me she did not want to get married, I told her that was not what I was proposing, what I was proposing was to make an opening on the wall and putting double doors like in hotel rooms, she told me she thought I was crazy and that from now on I was to let her know in advance when I was serious or joking! We even took pre-marital counseling, we had to write down 10 reasons why we wanted to get married, I put Health Insurance for the first one this time about 10 years so far, I made myself some pancakes the other morning, I can flip them like a Pro. In 1980 working at The Beverly Hilton Hotel beauty salon a guy customer told me I reminded him of "Father Guido Sarducci" from the original Saturday Night Live TV Show: http://danielperret.smugmug.com/Humor For Halloween I dressed up like him and took my kids Trick a Treating, my neighbors thought I was the real guy so I got a Celebrity Look-alike Agent (Ron Smith) and he got me my first gig at The Marriott Hotel in Palm Dessert in front of about 500 people for a big drug company, I got addicted right away....To performing!
