I was born in Virginia. I lived there until I was about a year old, then my family moved to Biscoe, North Carolina. When I was about 10 years old, we moved to Raleigh, then Fuquay, and finally Morrisville. Waitressing was my very first job, but I had always wanted to be a beautician. That was my second job. I worked it for 12 years then realized, as much as I loved the work, there was no security in it. So I got an Associate of Applied Science in Secretarial Science. That was my career job, it gave me a pension and other perks I really needed as I got older. I worked as a security officer at the same time I was working my career job. I also worked from home. I didn't have much time for being at home. I am retired now. It's hard to believe that so many years have passed since I was a little girl waiting to enroll in school, but it has passed. Now I can relax and be at home. In fact I have had 5 years of not having to get up early and go to work.
